Early, Afternoon Stay and Play, Enrichment Activities, and Late Day

Explore the Possibilities

At Spruce Street, we offer flexible Extended Day drop-in or contract options, as well as Afternoon Enrichment programming for Willows, Maples, and Oaks.

Come to Early Arrival to have a muffin and enjoy a learning activity with friends, stay after school to explore a variety of Enrichment Programs such as ceramics, tennis, theater and soccer, join us for Late Day to read books and do puzzles in a small group setting. Our day is conveniently customized to provide multiple options for your child’s development and growth as well as to meet the needs of your family’s schedule.

Early Arrival

7:30-8:30 am
Early Arrival allows your child the chance to start their day with friends in the calm of early morning before the busy school day begins. They will ease into their school experience by engaging in quiet cooperative learning activities, such as books and puzzles, while they enjoy a small breakfast provided by Spruce.

Afternoon Enrichment

1:00-3:30 pm
Afternoon Enrichment programs are offered throughout the year for Willows, Maples, and Oaks. Developmentally appropriate offerings are seasonal and provide your child with the opportunity to experience activities in the company of their Spruce friends, outside of their school day experience.  Program examples include Cooking, Tennis, Spanish, Soccer, Ceramics, Yoga, and Theater.  A number of classes are taught by independent specialists who work closely with Spruce teachers to provide your child with opportunities to have new experiences in the arts and athletics.

Afternoon Stay & Play

1:00-3:30 pm
Afternoon Stay and Play is an opportunity for a child to extend their Spruce day in a small, mixed-age setting while enjoying a variety of activities. This is a play-based learning experience that involves both cooperative and independent projects to give your child multiple opportunities to express themselves through their work. Rest time, snacks, and stories are important elements of the Afternoon Stay and Play program.  Outdoor play is incorporated into this experience either on the Spruce playground or a trip to a nearby site.

Late Day

3:30-4:30 or 5:30 pm
Late Day is a time for your child to unwind and spend time with friends and teachers resting, refueling, and exploring books, puzzles, and art materials at the end of their day. We offer two pick up times from Late Day to accommodate your family’s unique schedule. Late Day is designed to provide your child with an extension of their Spruce day that helps them close out their experience in a reflective manner.
